Fire Suppression Systems — Design, Supply & Installation
The Right Suppression System for Every Hazard.
No two fire risks are identical. A server room demands a clean agent that leaves no residue; a paint shop needs foam; a cold-store needs dry pipe. Locus surveys the hazard, selects the correct suppression technology, designs the hydraulic system to code, and installs it — from pump room to the last sprinkler head.
Every system we deliver is hydraulically calculated, third-party inspected, and handed over with full as-built drawings, test certificates, and an AMC plan. We supply equipment from Minimax, Tyco, Ceasefire, Viking, and HD Fire — and manufacture our own Locus-branded sprinkler heads and accessories for cost-effective mid-range projects.
Suppression Systems We Design & Install
Wet Pipe Sprinkler Systems
The most widely installed suppression system worldwide. Pipes are permanently charged with water; heat from a fire opens the nearest sprinkler head and water discharges immediately. Ideal for occupied buildings where ambient temperatures stay above 4°C year-round.
Dry Pipe Sprinkler Systems
Pipes are charged with pressurised air or nitrogen instead of water. When a sprinkler head opens, air pressure drops and the dry pipe valve releases water into the system. Eliminates freeze risk in cold stores, parking structures, and unheated warehouses.
Pre-Action Sprinkler Systems
A two-step system: water only enters the pipes after a fire detection signal AND a sprinkler head opens. Dual-interlock pre-action prevents accidental discharge — critical in data centres, archives, and museums where water damage is as catastrophic as fire.
Deluge Systems
All sprinkler heads in the zone are open at all times; water is held back by a deluge valve. On detection, the valve opens and the entire zone is flooded simultaneously. Used where fire spreads rapidly and a single-head response would be too slow.
Foam Suppression (AFFF / AR-AFFF)
Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) and Alcohol-Resistant AFFF blanket flammable liquid surfaces, cutting off oxygen and preventing re-ignition. Delivered via foam chambers, monitors, deluge systems, or fixed pourers depending on the hazard geometry.
Clean Agent Suppression (Novec 1230 / FM-200)
Gaseous suppression agents — 3M Novec 1230 and FM-200 (HFC-227ea) — extinguish fires by absorbing heat without leaving residue or damaging sensitive equipment. Safe for occupied spaces at design concentration. Ideal where downtime and equipment loss are unacceptable.
CO₂ Suppression Systems
Carbon dioxide suppression for total flooding of enclosed machinery spaces and local application on specific hazards. Highly effective on Class B and C fires. Requires strict safety interlocks and evacuation procedures — not suitable for normally occupied spaces.
Water Mist Systems
High-pressure water mist systems discharge fine droplets that cool the flame, displace oxygen, and reduce radiant heat — using up to 90% less water than conventional sprinklers. Effective on Class A, B, and C fires with minimal collateral water damage.
Kitchen Hood Suppression Systems
Wet chemical suppression systems designed specifically for commercial cooking equipment. Nozzles are positioned over fryers, griddles, and range hoods; on activation, wet chemical agent is discharged and the gas supply is automatically shut off to prevent re-ignition.
AMC & Maintenance
Scheduled maintenance covering sprinkler head inspection and replacement, pump room testing, valve exercise, pressure gauge calibration, and foam concentrate sampling. We maintain systems supplied by us and third-party-installed systems alike, and provide TAC compliance documentation.
Brands We Supply & Support
From Hazard Survey to TAC Certification
Hazard Survey & Risk Classification
We classify the occupancy, identify fuel loads, map drainage constraints, and review existing infrastructure before selecting a suppression technology.
Hydraulic Design & Code Compliance
Full hydraulic calculations to IS 15105, NFPA 13/15, or TAC requirements. Pump sizing, pipe schedules, and sprinkler density maps — all client-approved before procurement.
Supply of Listed Equipment
All components sourced from authorised distributors. TAC-listed, UL-listed, or FM-approved as required by the authority having jurisdiction.
Installation & Commissioning
Pipe fabrication, installation, hydrostatic testing, pump commissioning, and full system acceptance test witnessed by the client and, where required, the TAC inspector.
Handover, Certification & AMC
As-built drawings, test certificates, TAC inspection report, and a structured AMC programme to keep the system compliant and operationally ready.
